SCOTT CITY BASEBALL EDGES NMCC 7-6
The Rams edged the Eagles on a walk-off in the bottom of the seventh inning in the first game of the silver bracket at the Malden Invitational Tournament.
Joe Panagos threw the last seven pitches to be credited with the win for Scott City, which got a double from Jimmy May and Spencer Stratman.
Gavin Bond hurled a full game to suffer the loss for New Madrid County Central (4-10). All but one of the seven runs he allowed were earned and he had three strikeouts and three walks.
Austin Davis doubled with three RBIs for the Eagles, who later defeated Doniphan 10-3 in six innings to come out second in the silver bracket and improved their current record to 5-10. Scott City went on to trim Doniphan 1-0 in 10 innings in the final game to win the silver bracket championship. Information was not provided for that game, however.
