NMCC BASEBALL GAINS EARLY LEAD, LOSES LATE TO SCOTT CITY; LILY JOHNSON STRIKES OUT 10 FOR NMCC SOFTBALL
New Madrid County Central held on to a 2-1 lead through four innings of play.
The late innings, though, came to back to bite the Eagles as Scott city scored 11 unanswered runs to run away with a 12-3 win over NMCC.
John Michael Stanley and Caden Howell each had impressive days for the Eagles. Stanley went 2-for-3, while Howell went 2-for-4.
On the opposite side, the Rams lineup was too much to halt, as they pounded out 10 hits.

NEW MADRID, Mo. — It was another gem of a performance for New Madrid County Central’s Lily Johnson on Monday.
Johnson pitched a two-hit shutout over Dexter, as she struck out 10.
The top of the order helped her out too, as Maggie Sutton went 2-for-4 and Carson Cooper went 3-for-3.
Alivia Hartman went 2-for-4, and Johnson added to the cause with a 2-for-4 game as well.
